If you’ve stumbled across this site, congratulations, you found me :) I’m a little elusive (in regards to wedding photography) these days… mainly on purpose.

I’ve been photographing weddings for a decade now, since late 2008, and since then I’ve photographed well over 400 weddings - mostly in the United States but portrait photography has taken me to multiple countries around the world. I started this business in Philadelphia and now I reside just outside of Boulder in Colorado - and I adore it here.

When I began photographing weddings, the industry was just shifting into a digital camera market. While there were many wedding photographers, there wasn’t a significantly large amount of them and you could easily stand out… like I did in Philadelphia. I quickly became busy, booking a vast amount of local weddings because my “style” was different in the area and it stood out well from the pack. Since that time, the amount of wedding photographers has multiplied by a ridiculous amount. It’s funny, there isn’t a better time to be a wedding photographer AND there isn’t a better time to be getting married. However, the market is so saturated with photographers and its much harder to stand out these days. The talent out there is tremendous. All you have to do is go down the Instagram rabbit hole and you will find dozens you love.

But because I’m the guy that goes left when everyone goes right, I am trying to pull away - further - from the standard in the industry. What is predominately normal and trendy… I generally stay away from. I do this because, first and foremost I love being different. But a close second is because YOUR wedding is unique. It’s not the same as everyone else’s so why should your photographs look the same? If you enjoy a brighter and more whimsical photograph, then I’m probably not your photographer. If you want what all the “cool kids” are doing, I’m probably not your photographer. If something unique resonates with you, maybe you enjoy b&w images and film, or enjoy Polaroids, or a modern twist on classic looks… then perhaps I am your photographer.

I encourage you to look carefully look through each of the highlighted wedding galleries (at the left). I chose NOT to show off just a few amazing weddings as that is extremely simple to do. Out of 400 weddings I’ve photographed too many amazing weddings to count. I didn’t want to just show those off so I decided to show you a glimpse of each year from the past few years. They may not be the prettiest images, or the trendiest, but they are how I see a wedding… in small details. I love moments. I anticipate moments. And while I’ll definitely get a photograph of your first kiss after the ceremony and will happily get a shot with you and grandma (if you’d like one), my core focus is on the “in betweens” of your day. This is where I live. This is what I choose to show the most.

If you are interested in hiring me to photograph your wedding, I’d love to chat with you. I’m sincere and passionate about what I do and I am looking for clients that feel a connection towards my photography. If you do, please reach out. At one point I was shooting over 40 weddings a season and now I’m being far more select about where I travel to and what I photograph. Maybe we will be a good fit… If you’ve made it this far into my rant and you are agreeing with most of what I’ve been saying - then most likely we will be.

Please reach out and lets discuss your plans. I look forward to hearing from you.
